27 March: UNQUIET SPIRITS arrived! I was enthralled to see my essay "The Demon-Haunted Girl" alongside the exquisite writings of many wonderful friends and colleagues. My deepest gratitude and thanks to editors Lee Murray, Angela Yuriko Smith, and publisher Lindy Ryan, for including my work in this stellar volume from Black Spot Books. Of all the incredible essays, Yi Izzy Yu's "The Substitute" resonated most with me. Extraordinary pieces of history, culture, and storytelling encapsulated in this singular marvel. So familiar and so powerful. Such great courage. It led me to contemplate the path not taken.
